ABOUT US
EcoAdapt is a global Climate Action Partnership led by UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre, FAO and Last Mile Climate. We catalyze large-scale, ecosystem-based adaptation efforts through nature-based solutions in vulnerable, refugee-hosting communities. Our approach is rooted in a unique integration of indigenous knowledge systems and cutting-edge private sector solutions to regenerate landscapes and restore ecological health.

Mission Statement.
EcoAdapt addresses climate vulnerability through ecosystem restoration and sustainable land use practices. By promoting reforestation and biodiversity regeneration in refugee-hosting regions, EcoAdapt contributes to long-term resilience and community wellbeing.
Core Pillars of EcoAdapt’s Approach.
Ecosystem-Based Adaptation (EbA).
Ecosystem-Based Adaptation uses healthy ecosystems—such as forests, wetlands, and grasslands—to reduce the impacts of climate change. By restoring and protecting nature, EbA helps communities build resilience while supporting biodiversity and sustainable livelihoods.
Community-Centered Design.
This approach ensures that local communities, especially indigenous and marginalized groups, lead and shape adaptation strategies. It values traditional ecological knowledge, promoting solutions that are culturally relevant, trusted, and sustainable in the long term.
Science and Policy Integration.
EcoAdapt combines the latest scientific research with practical policy frameworks to design effective, scalable climate interventions. This ensures that all interventions are measurable, replicable, and aligned with global climate and biodiversity frameworks.
Our Long-Term Goals.
Support climate-resilient livelihoods
Restore degraded ecosystems
Strengthen policy alignment at local and national levels
Build capacity within local communities and institutions
OUR PARTNERS
We collaborate with a wide range of partners, including local, national, and regional governments, NGOs and civil society organizations, refugee and host communities, private sector actors, and international climate and development institutions.
Let's Connect!
Every tree, every community, and every ecosystem matters. Let’s connect to build a better eco-friendly environment for all!
